Mary Bobenmoyer
Owner, General Manager
Mary was born and raised in Grayling. After high school, she pursued a culinary degree in baking and pastry at the Art Institute of Seattle. Over the last two decades, she has worked in restaurants, bakeries, and cafes in Grand Rapids, Chicago and, for the majority of her adulthood, Portland, OR. She was trained as a barista in Portland where she developed an appreciation for good coffee.
For years, Mary dreamed of turning her passion for baking into a business. She loves testing new cookie recipes with feedback from friends and family and Our Town Coffee & Treats is the perfect place for her to share her culinary creations with the community.
Colby Chilcote
Owner, Business Manager
Colby’s career began with a decade at Google where she helped local businesses use technology to get online and get found by more customers. She returned to her hometown of Grayling to raise her family closer to freshwater and forests.
She spent five years as the Director of Marketing and Development at the regional conservation nonprofit, Huron Pines, before starting her own marketing consulting agency, Sandpaper Creative.
Colby is excited to put her experience to work to make Our Town Coffee & Treats a place the whole community can enjoy.
Our Story
We met as teenagers and solidified our friendship over concerts, mixtapes, movies and theatre. After decades away, we both returned home to be closer to the people we love. It didn’t take long for us to reconnect and find ourselves on stage together again. We moved from the Joseph Stripe Auditorium to the AuSable Artisan Village stage.
Our Town Coffee & Treats is located inside the original AuSable Artisan Village art gallery. The unique location is one of the many reasons we were inspired to start Our Town.
We have a love for music, art and theatre that we want everyone to share. In addition to our involvement in the community theatre program, we both sit on the board of the AuSable Artisan Village.
Our Town Coffee & Treats is a dream that brings together so many of our favorite things. Come visit us for coffee, cookies and good conversation in a space surrounded by art and created to inspire.
